I've seen your picture. Any attraction that has YOU as a clientele has the first ugliest.

The weather sucks.

Depends on where you are. Except for 90% humidity all the time,
you can probably find a place in California with weather you like.

Everyplace I've been to in California had sucky weather. LA was too
hot, and SF was too cold. The wind was always from the North and
the crappy brown beaches were cold. Only in Napa Valley was there
decent weather

Balanced by the proliferation of wine snobs... It's so bad now that you
have to actually MAKE RESERVATIONS at that quaint little B&B that you
used to stay at.

The place is a state-wide insane asylum. The prices are insane.

For heavily-taxed stuff like gas, telephone, electricity, local
produce and non-food purchases, yes. It's mind-boggling that people
can buy California fruit cheaper in other areas of the country.

No it's not mind boggling. Even their wine is cheaper in other
parts of the country.

See above comment.

OTOH, we are all fantastically wealthy and don't have to care
about stuff like sniff prices.

Traffic is nutso.

Traffic is heavy; PEOPLE are nutso.

Ever drive in the rain in LA? You don't.

You think that's funny? Try us in the snow! Hail is different, though.
I was on I-15 in a hailstorm so dense you couoldn't even SEE the
freeway signs, much less read them. Everybody slowed to a careful
crawl, following the guy in front because the lane markers were
invisible and you HOPED that somebody up there was doing the right thing.

Gangs roam the streets.

Location location location. Just because a kid LOOKS like a gang
thug it doesn't mean he isn't an honor student who does community
service because he wants to and not because it's a condition of his
parole.

Apparently you've never been anyplace decent, like Detroit.

I've been to Detroit, but back in the 80s. Is it like Newark? We
took an accidental turn early one Sunday morning and ended up in
Newark. I really felt uncomfortable, although I figured that
evildoers probably don't get up early on Sunday morning -- would
you if you didn't have to go to church?

The evildoers you saw were probably up all night.

Saw none. Clearly worn out from a night of rapine and pillage.

The only place good in California is Disneyland. And you need a
backpack full of money to go there.

Disneyland sucks, although some of the rides are fantastic. The
hang-gliding-over-parts-of-California ride was great and I felt
really cheated that it was so short. Half an hour would be
nice...

Magic Mountain has better rides. It also has the second ugliest
clientele of any "attraction" in California -- first ugliest is the
Los Angeles County Fair.

I always liked Knott's Berry Farm. They sell beer there.

I've only gone there once since they had rides; before that it was an
ersatz ghost town that sold fried chicken dinners and berry pie. You
can still get their Boysenberry preserves at Costco, but you can only
get Smucker's strawberry preserves there now -- which are nowhere near
as good as Knott's.

Don't drive in Georgia during a snowstorm. Those rednecks are too
dumb to slow down. Wreckage is everywhere.

Ummm! Boysenberry preserves. My mother loves those.

I didn't even mention the mudslides, earthquakes, and wildfires in
California. We have none of those in Michigan.

Vote for Romney. Repeal the nightmares.

Today's thrill ride - the freeway drive from Poway to Sacramento.
There were two rollover accidents right in front of me today - one in
Glendale at the La Tuna Canyon offramp from I210, the other at some
unknown location in the middle of the valley off the shoulder of
I-5.

There was still dust flying from the first, so I pulled over to help.
What do you do when you call 911 and get a busy signal? What I did
was walk over to the freeway callbox (see picture)

https://maps.google.com/maps?q=Glend...alifornia&z=21

while the truck drivers who had stopped pulled the lady out of her
car. She had hit a big chunk of metal in the freeway and ended up
climbing into the brush and rolling her car a couple of times. I was
waiting by the side of the freeway for a gap in traffic so I could
pull the metal off the road when a caravan of Glendale fire trucks
showed up, so I let them do it.

Those are nordic competitions. This is a alpine skiing group. I didn't
think I'd have to explain that, but apparently I do.

Ah come on somebody somewhere will argue with you it is the net.

There is a reason for California being on the left coast and having the
worlds largest collection of fruits flakes & nuts they need to go somewhere.
