If you require to be seen with elder football-managers, opera singers
and other dubious stars, then stay in Kitzbuhel.

If you require a hotel for sleeping in the night and good pistes for the
day stay anywhere else but do not stay in Kitzbuhel. Kitzbuhel is a
High-"Snob"-iety place for money-spender-people from Munich and
Salzburg. Prices are around the three times higher than in the villages
around.

Go to http://www.skiwelt.at/winter/start/start_wi_en.asp and use the
accommodation search - very comprehensive and useful.

I live in Munich and take exception to being called a snob. Also, everyone
spends money...

You get what you pay for. Accommodation in all the ski-resorts is similarly
priced. I have not come across a factor of three ! Lots of cheap pensions
are available, but beware however, it is not easy getting a couple of
nights - the hoteliers would rather say no, in case the next person wants a
full week. Somewhere like Wörgl is easier, but not as convenient as
actually being at the resort.

So the bottom line is not where is the reasonably priced accommodation - but
rather who will take you! Try the tourist office (before you leave home).
