Default Intuitiv 74 vs Legend 8200

Hello,
Is this the same ski?
There is no many information on 8200 in the net. However I've read
Legend 8200 is for intermediate-advanced rather than for experts.
True/false?

_ No. they aren't the same width. I think the Legend 4800 would
be an update of the Intuitive 74. However, I think they are
different enough in flex and weight not to be directly compared.

_ As far as I know there is no Legend 8200, only 7400, 8000 and 8800.

_ I think you mean the Dynastar Legend 8000. Here's my review

http://tinyurl.com/7dmbb

_ I'd say it's definitely on the soft side for an expert ski, but
if you get it on the longish side it could work well if you don't
expect race ski like rebound out of it. It has very soft tip and
tails, with a stiffish middle section that seems to do a
reasonable job of edge hold when pressed. It is an absolute blast
in powder...

Ooooops.
Sorry for that typo.
It was supposed to be 'Intuitiv 74 vs Legend 6200' in the subject...
Legend 6200 is 113-74-99 - exactly the same as Intuitiv 74 (4800 -
116-63-103 must be something else - something like Intuitive 68/69)

ml)

That Legend 6200 (In the shop I put it side by side with Intuitiv 74) is
an Intuitiv 74 with Legend graphic and Intuitiv 71 plate...

Seems to me there is some confusion. From the Dynastar website:

Legend Pro Rider - 124 97 116
Legend 8000 - 117 89 110
Legend 6200 - 113 74 99
Legend 4800 - 113 74 99

The difference between the last 2 one is weight. The 4800 is the lightest.

Greetings,

Ulrich

Very strange, indeed. In the catalogue 2004-05 they say 116-63-103...
But in the recent 'sale' catalogue - 114-75-102.
I will check it in the shop next time.
The other difference is the tail. It looks like in freestyle skis...

I know the 8000, 8800 and the 4800 very well. No one has a freestyle
tail (twintip or something thatlike)

_ The ones in the USA have a slight upturn at the tail. Certainly
not a pipe ski, but not the flat tail of old. (ie. if you want
to do ski chord measuring it's turned up just enough to make it
a bit of a puzzle as to where to attach the string. )

Some one on telemark tips recommended the 8000 as a pipe ski, so
I wonder if there are two different skis sold under the same
name ?

_ The 6200 looks to be the same ski at the 4800, just without the
binding plate. I haven't skied it, but I think the 4800 would be
a fairly decent AT ski with it's light weight and soft flex.
Light skis get throw around by the crud though. I came very close
to getting a pair with Dynafits for the spring corn harvest, but
decided to go with a pair of Fischer T-Stix Stingrays, since they
are even lighter and have a snappier flex.

I will check it at the shop later on. Anyway Legends are still too
expensive to me.

The 6200 is with (half) plate. There is also a 6200 RED without plate.
Many alpine guides in "my" parts of the Alps use the 4800 with Dynafit
as lightweight randonee equipment (for hut-to-hut tours like Haute Route
for example).

Seemed a good ski to me.

Possible. But the Stingray (Mustang?) probably is a little bit worse
when it comes to very steep and hard (frozen) shapes - and you have to
go a little bit in derapage (speaking in tele-terms here, obviously).

Personally, i'm still looking for a good tele-touring ski. Actually, i'm
using the Stockli Stormrider Pit, which is really light and snappy as
well - but a little bit too small (and short for me. 172. The
alternative 182 would be too long)

Greetings,

Ulrich
