new skis tuning

i bought new skis in the off season, what do i need to do tuningwise befor i
use them?

If they're brand new, just have the bindings adjusted and tested.
That's all you need to do.

Serious gear mavens might hot wax and scrape several times, or change
the base/side bevel angles, or various other forms of foreplay. But
none of this is really necessary.

Only a good guess,, take them to a good shop and have the bindings adjusted
for your requirements,, and have some wax applied...can't think of anything
else you might need, I have the same situation and will do the same

A lot of the thread "Base bevel" is about prepping/not prepping new skis
- check it out.

Are your skis new to you (i.e. used) or new to the world (i.e. factory
prepped.) Obviously different advice would be proffered.

Er, well. I'd at least check 'em out to make sure that they're true
and don't need some work (even if you're not a serious gear maven, a
railed ski will ruin your fun fast). And I personally would wax 'em
at least once because it just ain't that hard, and might be a Real
Good Idea depending on conditions.
