Ski Resorts Where Lifts Go Directly to Hotel
I am looking for (affordable) ski resorts in the Western US or Canada that
meet these criteria: - The resort's ski lifts go directly to the hotel or condos (or within 100 yards) - There are shops and restaurants within walking distance of lodging. A place where non-skiiers could have something to do would be great. - A group of 10 could get by on around $200/day (so no $700/night rooms unless its a suite with lots of separate rooms). Basically we are trying to avoid the hassle of needing to rent and drive cars.... What locations / resorts come close to these requirements for a February trip? -- W |

unless its a suite with lots of separate rooms). Just to clarify this, I meant a group of 10 could get by on $200/day *per person*. -- W "W" wrote in message ... You do have to drive there, unless you want to take a longish shuttle ride from Sacramento or Reno airport to the resort. |

Not my cup of beer, but maybe it's your. Free shuttle from Reno airport to Casinos; cheap rooms in the Casinos; lots to do for non-skiers; lift right to Casinos; big mountain. Most of the other places with slope-side lodging and non-skier entertainment are phony, more akin to carnivals than real living towns - Vail and Park City (and most of the Colorado and Utah places) are quintessential examples. |

Which Casinos at South Lake Tahoe are directly connected to the lifts?

So I would recommend Breckenridge as a point of departure. I'd scout the
internet for rates and also Hotwire and Priceline. These folks at Blue River Sports can give you a hand by calling their 800 number for any question you may have. Ask for "Sody" or "Dave." http://www.blueriversports.com/ |

Blue Mountain near Collingwood Ont. and Holiday Valley in Ellicottville NY both have facilities within a short walk of the hills. |
