Phoenix Ancient Art: Ski Mount Olympus
In Greek mythology, the home of the gods was, of course, Mount Olympus.
Mount Olympus is a peak in northern Greece, on the borders of Thessaly and Macedonia. Some say that the world's most beautiful snow is found on Olympus, the peak of which reaches over 10,000 feet. Perhaps this saying has to do with the gods, because this is where Greek gods enjoyed an exclusive kind of heaven. I suggest the same to ski lovers. Ski on Olympus: follow the path of the Greek gods! Heracles, the son of Zeus and Hera, was one of the most popular and celebrated Olympian gods. He was born on Olympus. Heracles means the "Glory of Hera". One of Hercules' labors was to kill the Nemean lion. After accomplishing this task he wore the lion's skin. In Greek art, it is common to see the head of Heracles emerging from the lion's head and the lion foreprows knotted at the god's chest. http://www.phoenixancientart.com/con...ncientart.html Phoenix Ancient Art http://www.phoenixancientart.com |
