It's been open for almost two weeks now. The offical Grand Opening
Celebration is this Friday the 19th from 8:00 to 10:30.

I've ridden it once, broke down for ten minutes. My roommate has been
stuck on it twice so far. Once for over 45 minutes and he got a free
lift ticket. They are still shaking it out and there are plenty of
problems. I think it takes longer than the bus. Doubt I'll be riding
it much. It also dumps lots of skier traffic on Peak 8 and the
offloading area dumps you right into the lift lines for the Colorado
and Rocky Mountain Super Chairs. Pretty bad design if you ask me.
However, when they open up the Peak 7 base area next year, things
should improve quite a bit. The good side is that if you take the bus
to Peak 9, there's a lot less traffic on 9 and 10 these days.

Thanks for the news. I won't be out until about Feb 4, so will miss
the ceremonies, yeah!

I always catch the shuttle bus at Harris and Adams and go to Peak 9.
Going to Peak 8 takes forever. I think I can get to Peak 9, lift up
and ski down to the Peak 8 transfer point, ride the chair over to Peak
8 and still get there faster than taking the bus. Going down Shock is
even faster.
