Wouldnt that be an awesome headline?
NO skating birkie in 2006 - all classic instead.
It would force all of us to really work on the classic again...

Let's form a group and lobby the birkie people - all classic in 2006 !

Why wait? Do it next year. Skaters stay out of track (mainly), so
you don't get clogged up on hills, even from the fifth wave. Plus,
the competition is so thin in the striding ranks that a slug like me
can even win a prize.

so what you're saying is that the birkie will be like the original
birkie.
OK for me.

On the serious side, make it like king Ludwig: one day skate one day
classic. Would be nice with at least four classic tracks all along.
hmmmm

Stan Rezac won both the classic and skate 50K on consecutive

That's amazing, especially since the skate race is on Sunday, and has much stiffer competition. I could barely get out of bed on Sunday after the classic race a couple of years ago, but managed to do 25. But I didn't win either race.....
