boot hurting - Analyzing Skiing motions (was Total skiing: ski the whole ski)

[lots of good advice, stored on the harddisk] If you were in the states, we could recommend several GOOD bootfitters depending on location. I can't do that for Europe, and especially not Denmark. I'm not too sure there is much downhill skiing in Denmark. You are absolutely right. Danmark is almost as flat as Holland ;-) Thanks a lot for the advice. I will try to get to a good bootfitter on my next trip to sweden. There was a thread in the last few days on rec.skiing.resorts.europe on where to find good bootfitters, take a look there and/or let us know where you ski... My next trip is to Sweden, Salen to be more specific. I've been watching that. I love how they show the tale of the tape.
With the Guadalcanal episode, it was the Wildcats vs. the A6M3 Zeroes, it was interesting to see how body armor on the wildcats really made the difference. I think this was one of my favorite episodes so far. |

It less of an airplane and more like a rocket with small wings, after the fuel was consumed they were easy targets, at least the ones that did not explode during launching. You're thinking of the Messerschmitt Me 163 Komet. The Komet was a rocket, took off on a dolly (when it didn't explode) and landed on a skid. The Messerschmitt Me 262 was a true jet fighter, and very capable. FWIW. |

The biggest issue the 262 had was that Hitler delayed it's production
insisting that it be configured as a bomber. Goering abetted the delay because he thought the current aircraft were sufficient, and he was suspicious of the scientists and engineers. Had it gone into production at the earliest possible time as an air superiority fighter the skies over Germany would have been much less tenable for the B-17's. It would not have changed the final outcome, but that outcome would have been delayed, and much costlier. The only technical issues I know of is that, like most early jets, the engine lifetime was very low, and it guzzled fuel at enormous rates.
