Nether of those are clear, although Berger on the 3rd leg of the relay
is a real possibility.

If Thomas should win one of the events on the Norwegian champs which
starts on Thursday, then he'll also end up on the Oly team, otherwise
he'll stay on as the NRK (very well qualified!) expert commentator.

It's more like Lance Armstrong winning 3rd in TdF, i.e. Thomas is coming
back from retirement in order to try to win something in a year or two.

Good news. Will be interesting to see how she fares with WC pace.

The whole thing speaks to the ridiculousness of the rigid USST system
of counting the past year's results. Pretty much the only time
last year's results are meaningful is when a skier has been injured in
the meantime and thus gets a slow start. That's where the coaches
should be able to exercise judgment. Overwrought notions of fairness
(and fear of legal action) get in the way.
