Default Sun Valley recommendations?

Does anybody have any recommendations for Sun Valley? Specifically,
whether to stay in Ketchum or the village, what lodging is good, and so
on?

I usually stay in the town of a ski area (if it has a town, that is),
just because the night-life choices tend to be better and more varied.

Ketchum.

I suppose it depends on what you are looking for, but I think Ketchem is
the best choice by far.

The village is quite a long ways away from Baldy, although it is very
close to Dollar Mountain. The odds are you're not going there to ski
Dollar.

You may be close enough to walk to the lifts from accomodations in
Ketchum - I stayed in a chalet that was far enough away to make the free
shuttle bus a better option. The shuttles are quite frequent. Some
people might find the shuttles less than perfect, but I'd spent the year
before in a resort where shuttles were the only way to get around, so it
was no big deal.

Ketchum has a lot of restaurants and bars. Excellent night life. The
village appeared to be a LOT more sedate - maybe okay for older groups
and families, but even they would be quite happy in the town too.

If you are a movie buff and fan of skiing history, the Original Sun
Valley Lodge is very cool and full of memoraphilia. I also like the
outdoor pool heated to 102 degrees F.

Actually, I meant to mention this as an option. It is very cool, and at
least worth a visit even if you don't stay here.
