lurking ski nut
G'day. I have been lurking in this group for a month or so. I really have found the ski discourse helpful looking back over previous posts. My question is how to stay unblocked? Do I have to not reply to certain posters? If so, which ones? I see two particular posters who seem to have caused a lot of disruption here, and they post nothing of value that interests me...Are any posters real-life ski friends? Just asking The #1 Bum |

Just asking The #1 Bum Do you really want to be friends with pathological liars, dickless cowards, psychopaths, criminals, and sick freaks who make death threats and falsely accuse innocent men of molesting children? Hey, you can be friends with freaks like Dick Gozinya and Tranny Boob Thompson. Are you a child molester? You'll fit right in. Obviously, you don't have any problem hanging out with such scumbags. Personally, I think you're a sockpuppet for one of the dumb**** Canuck assholes, playing another sick little game. Especially with that laughable sig. Another dishonest asshole taking cheap shots while condoning the filth of rsa. Which freak are you? |

Just asking The #1 Bum Stay out of the flame wars with the loons, or at least minimise direct responses to them. It's not like they will ever listen to anything you say in any meaningful way. Mostly, the people I block are the "enablers" that goad the #1 loon trying to antagonise him, and of course, the loon himself. There is never anything of value in those threads. There have been a few people who frequently get into it with him that I kept around for a long time, because they actually had something interesting to say on other topics occasionally. Over time, the ratio of real contribution to enabling became too much, and they went also. Of course, everyone's standards are different, so you take your chances. The major consideration is probably to stay on-topic, and avoid the flame wars. I do wonder how many have blocked me because I have responded to threads involving the loons, asking people to stop enabling them by responding the way they do, mostly to no avail. Probably 90% of the messages posted to this group involve these flame wars at times, judging by the number of new posts that actually make it through my filters. |

Just asking The #1 Bum Do what I initiated. Block trunky (the #1 loon). It's ok to talk about him sometimes. Just don't talk to him. Oddly enough, even though blocked by most it seems that he still posts often. It seems that his existance is so lonely that he craves negative attention over no attention. And unfortuneately for me he seems to have some sort of obsession with me. We have gotten together and skied a few times as a group. And there are a few who have made trip/trips to Utah to ski and looked me up when they get here. As you can probably understand I am more careful about letting people know where I live now. I made that mistake once! And in case you haven't seen it. Here is an article written by the brother of Scott Barak Abraham formerly Scott Spittal: http://www.backlash.com/content/email/1996/em0196.htm I am Scott Barak Abraham's brother. I started to write a long rebuttal to his story in Backlash ("Repressed Memory Syndrome," The Backlash, March 1995), but then I stopped. No matter what I say, some will accept, some will not. But there is a thing that must be said. Scott Barak Abraham was not, I repeat not, abused within our household. Since this alleged abuse is one of the pivotal points of the article, I feel it calls the validity of the whole article into question. Mr. Abraham was a multiple substance abuser for over twenty years, I have never used any drugs and haven't had a drink since I was 15 years old, 27 years ago, and was never drunk even once. I bring this up not for moral judgment, just for one point. Mr. Abraham poisoned his mind and body for over twenty years with mind altering drugs and substances, all of which have been scientifically proven to affect intelligence, perception and memory. Finally, as children, up to my 17th birthday Mr. Abraham molested me, violently abused me almost daily, and to this day uses words of derision and insult to attack and intimidate me. He denies this. If nothing else, I remember him doing this, he denies it. He says both of us were victims of multiple abusers, and I deny that with absolutely no hesitation or reservation. Since the article says False Memory Syndrome doesn't exist, he is quite wrong, as apparently one of us is the victim of said syndrome. A last thought. Mr. Abraham's behavior is nothing new, it hasn't changed ever. He threatened and intimidated when he was six, he threatened and intimidated when he was 15, he threatened and intimidated when he was 25, he threatens and intimidates when he is 43. I do not use my name at the request of the publisher. |

Yes, who have you blocked and maybe I will do the same. It should alter the appearance of my Forte Agent newsreader... Thanks Easiest thing to do is just watch a bit. It will become quickly apparent. Sorting through my blocked list looking for people in this group I haven't seen in years is more than I care to bother with. Stuart and Pigo were the only two real recently. I kept hoping they'd finally see the futility of argueing with the loon, but no such luck. Blocking the regular enablers does significantly change the appearance of the group. |
