Default Where to avoid Christmas week crowds?

Can anyone list a few ski areas where one can actually ski and not just
stand in line? Hope to ski during the M-F Christmas to New Years week
somewhere in the southwest USA. That means California, Utah, Colorado
or New Mexico. Most moderate beginners and light intermediate skiing.

Anywhere in the states between 8am and 10:30am; then again from 12noon
to 1pm; and again after 3pm.

I read about this resort on MSN. Its supposedly not as big as Aspen but
gets the job done. Lodging around this place is not touching the sky
either. I am actually planning on going there myself. Lift tickets are
also reasonable

Yeah, but anyone who flies into Denver and drives past Winter Park,
Loveland, A-Basin, Keystone, Breckenridge, Copper, Vail and Beaver
Creek to go to Sunlight is a fool.

Anyone who pays $60+ to stand in a 30+ minute liftline is a fool.

Not to mention the $10+ parking for a decent spot at Vail.

Well, that may be true but I can tell you that after 20 years of skiing
in Colorado I have never waited in a 30+ minute liftline. As far as
lift tickets go, get them pre-season and they are a lot cheaper. Right
now you can still find 4-passes on Ebay for under $200.

But if you really want to get away from the crowds, go to Montana. Big
Sky, Bridger Bowl and others have great snow, great terrian and no
crowds.
