Default Loveland snow report

Loveland has a few nice pictures on their site. Head off to:
http://www.skiloveland.com/snowmaking

This is in part a test post, but I had to include something
ObSki.

Nice! I never got to ski Loveland, but passed it going to and from my exam
(which was at winter park, or mary jane to be precise).

Time for your ski season to start. Ours ended last weekend, and now we are
in t-shirts as the temps climb into the 20C range, and are getting
thunderstorms.

I was talking to a friend who works there last night and the rumor now
is that they will not open untill it snows. Not sure how things are
going at the Basin. I may have to drive up there and check it out.
We have near record highs here in Breck. No snow in the peaks yet.
Come on, this time last year I was knee deep on Loveland pass.

Loveland has a ways to go to get Homerun covered. I love webcams.
Me thinks they need a week of normal to sub normal temps to get things
going.

I figger about the same as Loveland. I too might have to do a drive
about this weekend to see for myself. Nice thing about the Basin is
you can see all of it from US6. To get the inside dope on Loveland
will require a bit of walking. Something I am thinking about
doing this weekend. I wonder how much snow they lost on the
upper 500' of vert. The photo on their website is about a week
and a half old.

I havn't keep track of where Breck starts its snowmaking. Peak 9?
Since you are in Breck, perhaps you can tell us what you can
see from town. Any sign of the home made white stuff?
Most of the Breck cams are on Peak 8. I havn't seen anything
white on 'em so far.

I think we could do that this weekend. On the west side of
the divide, very near the top of the pass is a pool of molten
snow. We could stand in it, just for the braggin' rights!
We will just leave out the *molten* part in our snow report.

They just started blowing snow. Had the guns on all day today. Right
now they have the bottom part of Cashier covered. They usually start
with Cashier and Bonanza on Peak 9 and open the Beaver Run chair
first, then Quicksilver, Mercury and the Falcon (Peak 10).

It was below freezing all day today but it looks like it's going to
warm up so I'm not sure how long the snowmaking will last. I don't
think we will see Loveland or the Basin open by next weekend.

Top to bottom, 1000 vertical ft? We got longer trails than that in PA. I
thought those Colorady resorts were supposed to be so much bigger.

Read that again. That is 1000 VERTICAL feet. Not a run 1000 feet
long. The run is about a mile long. Anyway, love to hear what
skiing is available TODAY in PA. Anyway, Loveland is one of the
smaller areas in the state. Hard to beleive that all of our
areas aren't the same, huh. But I would take Loveland any day
over anything east of it.
