Just 2nd grade through high school, and a few summers after that.

And you moved away?

Almost never
hot and humid together.

What's wrong with that?

I couldn't wait to escape it. It's miserable.

I guess you never heard of air conditioning.

Water? Near Detroit? I guess you never heard of the Great Lakes.
Look it up. There are more boats registered in Michigan than in
all other states combined. Michigan has over 2000 miles of
shoreland. That's more than the Eastern seaboard and the Western
seaboard combined.

I said "whitewater". You know - snow melts in mountains, flows
downhill, runs around bends and over rocks, makes waves you can surf
all day.

Been there done it. It's one of the reasons that Washington State is
on my "Do not return," list. (The "Do not return list is only
Washington and Texas.)

There's plenty of flat water around Seattle too.

I remember the days I spent at Fort Lewis. In August it went down
to 28 degrees at night. I'll say this again for special emphasis,
in August the nighttime temperature was below freezing. We would
wake up and there was frost on the ground. You didn't need a
cooler to keep your beer cold.

I haven't seen anything like that in my 37 years here. A couple days
of that wouldn't kill you, and it certainly would be extremely rare.

Don't walk away here. I've seen frost on the ground in the Yakima
Valley in August. It's pretty reasonable that there is frost on the
ground during the other eleven months.

Yakima is not Seattle. We go to Yakima if we want real hot summer weather. Or,
any place else on the other side of the Cascades. It rarely gets below freezing
in the winter in Seattle.

Speaking of whitewater, I remember my training at Ft. Lewis, during
a river crossing exercise I had to swim a river carrying a rope,
and tie it to a tree on the other side. I was selected because I
was the best swimmer. I remember jumping in and almost went into
shock. The river was full of snow melt and I had never been in
water so cold. I became numb and swam across and completed the
mission. You do NOT want to play in Seattle's rivers.

Do you ski naked?

Only in my dreams. I wish I could ski naked. For one thing, I would
save a lot of money on clothes.

Butt I'd still be carrying my emergency rum flask.

You want snow? Michigan has more registered snowmobiles than all
other states combined. I'm pretty sure Michigan has more ski areas
than Washington and California combined.

Snowmobiles? IF that's what you want to do. We have mountains - real
ones. And we don't have to drive to the other end of the state to
find them. But we could.

Michigan has more ski areas than any other state, and a lot of them
are in the Detroit area. But we ain't perfect. If only the Lions
would win a game or two.

I skied at some of them in Junior high. I could ski the whole area my first day,
until the ski patrol insisted I had to learn to turn. Yep, some skiing.

I should mention one other advantage to Seattle. You would never need to stop
sailing. You can do it year round.

You prove with every post what a moron you are. Keep it up! Your
record is perfect.

Actually, each time you gappers post proves how shameless you gappers
are. And the record shows it perfectly.

Thanks again for verifying my statement.

Because it's a hell of a lot better climate than Detroit or Boston.

What? Are you nuts? Have you ever been to Detroit?

Almost never snows in town, but lots of great hills
within a couple hours with huge snow dumps compared to Detroit, measured in the
hundreds of inches some years. Because it has REAL mountains nearby. Because
there is water for whitewater playing year round.

Do the math. For much of the eastern seaboard, there is a
system of barrier islands in addition to the mainland coast
of maybe a thousand miles, and that doesn't count the
bifurcations of the Main coast and its rivers which are
navigable for many miles of their southern reaches. The
barrier islands are maybe 800 miles. An island has all
sides on water. These islands are long and narrow, they
can contribute no less than 1600 miles of coast to the
eastern seaboard. So There can be no less than 2600 miles
of seacoast on the eastern seaboard not counting navigable
rivers of which we are not lacking. Think Savannah, The
numerous rivers around the the Delmarva peninsula, the
Hudson, Connecticut, Merrimack, Piscataqua, Saco, Kennebec,
Penobscot, and St Croix all contribute to a considerable
littoral landscape in the East. More than enough to put
"bull****" to your statement that the amount of shoreland
around Michigan exceeds that of the whole east coast and
west coast combined.

As for ski areas if you want to call them that...
Snomobiles? Well yeah, if gravity is absent from lack
of hills, then powered fun is second best.

Vote for Palin-Brown in 2012. Repeal the nightmares.

Merry Christmas everyone. God bless us all.

work with them on something. But now that you mention it.............

I never made the connection with CHS and Scott. The school has an
excellent academic record (rated by state testing to be in the top
10%), almost as good as Poway High and the private schools in the
county, and a pretty campus (actually, it's more like one big
building). Any connection with SA just doesn't compute.

I'm not talking islands. I'm talking coastline. Look at a map.
Michigan is two peninsulas with a total coastline of over two thousand
miles. The Lake Superior coastline is greater than the California
coastline.

So I guess it's safe to assume they can handle those, "special,"
students like Trunky?
