I've used Snowcard in the past:

http://www.snowcard.co.uk

They specialise in snow / adventure sport cover and although it is not
necesarily the cheapest I do feel that they would pay up if I did have an
accident off piste, rather than screwing me on a technicality and not paying
out as I suspect a lot of the holiday insurers would try.

Steve,
Make sure to check out their DOC or description of coverage which will list
specific exclusions. Travel Guard www.travelguard.com excludes professional
atheletes, motorsports, and mountain climbing only.
I used www.insuremytrip.com which quotes all of the major insurance
suppliers. Last time I used M.H. Ross for their lower cost. Many must be
purchased within 2 weeks of the first down payment for the trip. Some can't
be purchased if your travel date is less than 15 days away.

Good luck.
Tim
