Default Christmas 2005 Ski Trip

Please advise... I just got back from Utah last month, where I stayed
in Park City and skiied at the Canyons, Snowbird and Park City.

I also had breakfast at the Stein Eriksen Lodge and thought Deer Valley
looked amazing for my older son (8 years old).

I really want to go back, but Stein has a waiting list for Christmas
week and you don't find out until August. On the other hand, I could
go to Jackson Hole (never been) because there are rooms available at
the Four Seasons (Ski on / Ski Off perfect for my three year old) for
Christmas week 2005.

My only question is about conditions in Mid-Late December... It
worries me a little that Jackson Hole has so many rooms available when
Ritz Carlton Bachelor Gulch and all of Utah seems to be booked
already....

Is Jackson Hole typically ready by Christmas?

If it doesn't snow, nothing is ready, If it
snows, everybody is ready.

Can't speak for the snow in either place, but if you hope to get your
kids into any programs, make reservations as soon as you decide where
you're going. They will sell out well in advance.

The odds are that it will be good, but it can happen the other way
frequently. It will be open, but who knows if it will be skiing well.
JH does not depend on the Christmas season to make the season.
