Default X-Country Skiing DVD

Hi all...

I am in the process of producing a DVD bax set to aid in a fundraising
effort for my local X-Country club's new chalet. The DVD (s) will
contain about six hours of footage when complete, including about thirty
minutes of instruction for classic, and thirty minutes of instruction
for skate style by Ski Canada certified coaches/instructors. As well as
a series of vignettes on what it takes to keep a club like this going.
In addition, there will be complete footage of over thirty kilometres of
groomed trails, as well as interviews and profiles of both the junior
and masters race teams. The Porcupine Ski Runners development program
has produce four junior national champions in Canada, and is well
recognized on the national level having former members of Canada's
national team among it's directors. It's junior race team members
recently won medals in competition in Quebec City.

An initial production run of 500 to 1500 copies of the DVD Box Set is
contemplated. My question for the group is; Do you believe that there
is a market for this type of product? The DVD is being shot in High
Definition, and mastered using a professional editing suite. Sample
footage will be made available later on this winter on the Porcupine Ski
Runners website ( www.porcupineskirunners.com ).

Pls respond to the group with comments or questions about this project,
and it's potential. Would any of you buy such a DVD?

Thanks in advance for your input

No... This is a separate project altogether, by a completely different
production company...

In answer to another question on this subject I received by email... the
DVD box set will be two or three DVD's, depending on replication cost at
a replication facility, and whether or not the footage can be contained
on two or three dual layer, dual density DVD's. If it turns out to be a
two disk set, the projected retail will be $25 CAD, if three disks are
necessary the retail price will be between $30 and $35 CAD.

Please don't hesitate to ask more questions about the project and voice
your opinions...

Glenn
