Skiing in the Twin Cities

We got over 6 inches of wet snow on Saturday. The temps are warming to
above freezing. The best skiing is either skating on the crust in the
morning or classic skiing with waxless crowns when it warms to above
freezing in the afternoon.

The most fanatical skiers in Oslo started a few weeks ago, Tone & I
instead spend the weekends at our Telemark cabin:

The first 3km (lighted) loop opened by the end of October, we got two
days of skiing that weekend.

This last weekend conditions were just wonderful, probably around 100+
skiers with a classic track on both sides and room for skating in the
middle, mostly wide enough so that you could have two pairs of skiers
(classic+skate) meet.

I hope/suspect that they will open up the first 10k Silkedalen mountain
loop this week.

We'll be back up most weekends until the end of the year. :-)
