Default colorado BC ski suggestions?

Planning to do a 3-4 day backcountry ski tour with ~4 friends in CO in
the Aspen area, in mid-January, preferentially below 10,000 feet. Is
there usually enough snow by then at this altitude for BC travel?
Would consider driving up to 5 hrs from Aspen. Can anyone recommend a
book with route descriptions? Not interested in climbing peaks and
skiing down, more getting from point A to point B through passes and
rolling terrain. Done several multi day trips in the High Sierras
(Yosemite, Minarets).

Dawson's seems to be out of print, but available from the author.
Litz's is 1989 but may still be helpful because of its focus hut to hut
skiing. I had some friends in LA who took a different Colorado hut to
hut trip every March. They might know more and who to contact over at
rec.skiing.backcountry (or look up ski shops in Colorado).

thanks Gene. Just ordered Dawson's book. Hut to hut sounds OK, but I
am more of a get-buried-in-snow-storm-in-a-tent kind of skier.

Hm, I take that back - even trying to order Dawson's book directly
from author gives an out of stock message. Used ones on Amazon start
at $125! May be someone around here has one for sale?
