Hi Gang

As usual, the Annual Picnic will be held at a secret location near the
end of the season to rejoice in another year of powder and turns.

All those wishing to find out the address of the venue this year,
please email suzieflame a t hot mail d o t com for the details.

This year it will be somewhere in Nevada, due to those nearby
requesting same, and reduced travel cost for the rest of us.

Can Spock and Mr. Hat attend?

This would be a cool place for some Spring/Summer Skiing:

When we hear the name Nevada here, we only think about
mafia&casinos&gambling.................. But Nevada really means "snow" or
"snowy" in Spanish (Sierra Nevada, the "Snowy Mountains"?), does it not? So
I guess that it just has to be some mountains with snow on
there..................

A quote from the above referenced page:

Hitch a ride up to the deep stuff at the end
of the road with a snowmobile".

Now that's my kind of backcountry skiing !

For those without a handy map or actual experience in the area, Nevada
and California share the definitely mountainous Lake Tahoe region, and
Reno has the largest airport facilities nearby. Lake Tahoe is ringed
by ski areas, including Heavenly, which features a California side and
a Nevada side.

All I can say is that this time around there's no way I'm getting talked
into that three-legged ski race again. I don't care how much beer you
offer me, I ain't doing it.

Right. It's a pale ale. And a darn fine one. Let's hope Suzy brings
some to the picnic.

(Ok, so I'm not back to talking about [ob]skiing yet, but at least I'm
getting closer.)

Theory has it that skiing is possible within a few hours of Las Vegas
(no, not Big Bear, something closer). Anybody know what it is?
