Eight weeks
Hi all,
One rule of thumb that I've heard is that it takes about 8 weeks for the body to adapt to any new form of training. So a strength coach will have you do the same routine for 8 weeks, then switch to a different routine because you have fully adapted to the current routine and won't make any more progress at it. I started hill bounding interval workouts at the beginning of September. Last night was our club's weekly hill-bounding session. For the first time I felt really good with fast times and able to really get my heart rate up. So it seems the 8 week rule applied itself again. It really shows that you can't wait till the last minute to get in shape. And it show you need to be patient. ===== Rob Bradlee Java, C++, Perl, XML, OOAD, Linux, and Unix Training |
