What a hoot - I'm actually going to be in Calgary on that day coming
back from an elite, invitation-only pre-season training camp, run by
my sponsor, near Banff. Maybe I'll stop by and watch Beckee bag the
brilver.

OK, I'm lying. I WILL be in Calgary that day, but only because I'm
getting married that weekend up there. And I'm not even going to
bring my MARWE 610 rollerskis with me.

OK, I can see how you would much rather have r.s.nordic believe you're
at a training camp.

I'll say GRATULATIONS anyway.

Why not?

I actually ran an orienteering competition on the day I got married, I
only had to be in the church by 1400, which left lots of time to start
in a (relatively) local competition at 1100. (My best man started as
well. :-)

The only critical point of the day was when we both got back to his flat
to get dressed, and I realized that I'd totally forgotten how to tie the
black silk butterfly tie that goes with my formal suit. :-(

Fortunately, I did recall it in time to get to the church before my
wife-to-be was scheduled to arrive.

Because it's a pain in the patootie to travel with them. However, if
someone will tell me a good place to skate (I've done some striding
before around Banff) around Banff or Canmore, I'll consider it. Can
you skate on that big-ass highway that goes up to Lake Louise? I
think I remember seeing bikes on it when I was there.

There was snow falling on the road up to Lake Louise when I left there
yesterday morning. The road surface was just wet, but the sides were white.
