Jackets: HyVent, Gore-Tex XCR, Infusion designs
Jacket shopping after I lost my venerable TNF gore-tex wonder jacket (dammit). If you've got one, year-round ski, bc-ski, mountaineer, winter camp, storm jacket, has to be good with a heavy pack: Is HyVent as good as Gore-Tex XCR? Just cheaper? What about traditional expedition jackets like TNF Mountain Light (similar to what I used to have) vs newer, lighter types like TNF Climb Flight Infusion (criminy what a name) or Ama Dablam Infusion jackets. The pit zips on the newer ones don't seem very airy? Ski skirts don't work with heavy-packs do they? I don't want zip-in liners, just a seriously good expedition quality shell that will keep me dry and will breath. Any recommendations? Prices seem to be pretty much $300 US and up, any particular stores cheap if you know what you want? Jamie |

Also, look at store brand shells from REI, MEC, EMS, Bean, CampMor.
