Example: A very detailed trail status report daily: http://www.skiforeningen.no/forem/ Yes, it's very good. Every morning they put up a short description of the conditions in the different parts of the woods around Oslo, and grooming status for all groomed trails. ( a big dump of snow on Friday, most major trails now prepared) It snowed all Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, ca. 60 cm of cold, light snow (a lot for Oslo, we don't usually get big dumps). And then it cleared up on Saturday. :-) Tracks weren't optimal as the snow was difficult to pack and the groomers went for distance rather than prime quality (the right choice, of course), but it was a great weekend for skiing nonetheless. On Sunday I met some people breaking trail on one of the ungroomed trails with snow up to the thighs. :-) Hei Martin. Is this you ? :-) http://www.skiforeningen.no/imgshow.cgi?nr=1247 Heh, it is! The chinook that hit over the last couple of days is pretty much destroying any snow depth we've finally managed to get. Chinook is officially a curse-word for me. Chris |

SO at least drown your sorrows in the knowledge that it's not /just/ you... :-( Pete. -- Peter Clinch Medical Physics IT Officer Tel 44 1382 660111 ext. 33637 Univ. of Dundee, Ninewells Hospital Fax 44 1382 640177 Dundee DD1 9SY Scotland UK net http://www.dundee.ac.uk/~pjclinch/ |
