Default help needed to mount fischer s-bound

I am mounting a pair of nnn-bc bindings on Fischer S-bound Snow Bound
skis, and have discovered that the balance point where you normally
mount the pin center is about 2 inches behind the mounting point marked
on the skis. Fischer won't tell me what to do they just say to take
them to a dealler. I've called 4 dealers and they aren't sure what to
do. Some say split the difference. Does anyone in this group know
what to do?

If you want them to work well for kick'n'glide, pins on balance
point is the way to go. Markings on the ski can not always be
trusted since every once in a while things go wrong in the
manufacturing process. Measure both the balance point and
chord center and see where they end up relative to the mark
on the ski. If possible check some other skis of the same model
and see where their binding mark is.

Moving the bindings forward will likely help in turning the
skis, but might mess up the kick'n'glide if you ski in
prepared tracks. Having to remount the bindings is not the
end of the world, the holes can be filled and new ones drilled
without affecting the ski at all.

If it were my skis, I would try pins on balance point. If I felt
the skis were much more difficult to turn than should be, I would
remount the bindings. Of course double/triple checking your
balance point measurement would be a good idea as well.
