gonna test ride the 159 soon. You meant "pintail" not "pinhead". These boards appear to have an even more extreme taper than the Fish and the Prior Khyber. They also have a bigger sidecut radius, 9 - 10 m which is rather Donek Incline / Prior MFR -esque. Trying to imagine what impact the looser sidecut might have with coupled with such extreme taper. I've never ridden a pintail so I can't really visualize the ride. Probably SWEET on anything you can surf! On hardpack, it would probably tend to pick up speed easily with the open sidecut but I suspect the taper would make it hard to dump speed by carving it. Probably a small price to pay if you get lots of fresh. Any chance you'll also try a Fish and report back on the difference between the two? Mike T |

Mike T heh~ yeah, i'm a pinhead alright....a morning of face shots does that to me sometimes. makes the day (afternoon today) job a bit more difficult. thanks for your thoughts. yeah, i think i could take a fish for a ride too- milo has them for 27bucks/day- maybe i can trade them a ride on the northshore for a ride on their fish. unfortunately, i could only get the 159 northshore- the 62 was sold out. i'll give it a shot nonetheless though. i envision the board to be extremely easy to turn, hopefully with a lot of float. if the thing can land big airs (15-30' for me), i might have found my new powder resort board. the timeless 64 is nice, but not too forgiving and i'm finding it to be a bit difficult edge2edge. hardpack? whoa. these days i rarely ride hardpack w a snowboard. those are tele-practice days! ;-) cheers -- jmed |
