Default Wanted: Info on construction of 2003-2004 K2 World Piste telemark skis

My ski shop mounted some BD O3 bindings on a pair of brand new last year's
World Piste skis (the last year before the skis came with
prethreaded binding inserts for certain brands of bindings).

The base of the ski underneath one of the heel blocks has a bulge: they
overdrove a screw during mounting.

They claim that there is a metal sheet (now dented) between the screw and
the base. Is this true? The 2004/2005 World Piste added "another sheet
of titanal" to make two. That means my skis have one. Isn't it on the top
of the ski, rather than next to the base?

Thanks!
