This is one of those cases where it is time to "vote with your wallet" :
don't go there. Maybe let them know this change was the reason you decided
not to go or cancel.

It's a commercial company (at least that is what I guess). Petitions
don't help. Actions that influence the bottom line do.

Actions with notification are probably more effective.

It wasn't that long ago when any bump big enough to get a good jump off would be
blocked or flattened as soon as the ski patrol saw it. I was amazed when they
started building the monstrousities they have now.

AS long as you care... Maybe you should reconsider... There you have a
lot of kids having fun, practicing what they like the most, they are
not in the streets doing drugs, they are doing a sport...

This sports has Athletes, is an Olympic Game... with no practice how
can you train ?

Also all snowboard industry can be influenced by some decision like
this one, if people are not jumping anymore, then all the freestyle
turn has come to an end and all the small shops that are surviving
with snowboard industry.

Tabletop jumping is part of the Olympics now? I thought it was just
pipe and PGS.

Lake Louise is a glorious mountain with tons of terrain. Maybe some of
those kids who were risking their necks on tabletops can explore the
rest of the mountain and learn how to turn. If they want to jump
there's no shortage of natural hits.

If they are doing this for insurance reasons, They could just re-design the
jumps to eliminate the biggest hazard. If they fill in the tabletop so that
jumpers are never more than a couple feet off the ground, even as they fly the
same trajectory they fly now, the risk will be far less. It would eliminate the
flat landings of people going too slow over the jump. Hey - I might even take
this old body over them then. I always loved those hills where you could just go
over them faster and faster until you lift off and land gently, eventually going
40-60 feet in the air while never being more than a fot or two high.

Yeah you are right in your point, but non only Lake Louise is a RCR
resort... If you even been in Mont Ste-Anne or Stoneham, you would
understand that we don't get much snow in winter so pretty much of the
terrain is park rinding... Freestyle is aroung 80 % of snowboard
industry... decisions like than can make a difference too...

You just don't regulate how people should do snowboarding... are we
still in a free country or what ? People will just go in Back Country
and make jumps there... much more safer ... right

Really? It sure doesn't appear that way in my experience.
