Default Wild new iceskate-like skiboot/binding?

Check out the iceskate looking boot/binding on the Swede in the 3rd
photo down at this link:

Am I seeing things? Or is that a freaked out setup?

It is a speed-skate boot and and clap frame with ice blade replaced
with a ski.
It was mentioned in 2 threads on Oct 25 2005.
Subjects: "Why black?" and "skates for sprint skating"

IMHO it is of little practical use except in specialized events
like a very short race. You would have to take your boots off to
re-wax etc.

IMHO, even ice skates with a blade permanently fixed to the boot are of
little practical use! Touring skates RULE!
