Default Skiing Uphill at Alpine Ski Parks

I know it is ok to do at Trollhaugen in Wisconsin but I just called
Sundown Mtn in Dubuque and was told no. I just got some Salomon X
Adventure gear and I love not having use the lift chairs. Note: I do
purchase a lift ticket at Trollhaugen and happy to do so elswhere. The
question is where else in the Midwest US?

Thanks much,
Ed V.

Were you told "no" because you called and asked, or because you went
there and asked? My personal experience is that most if not all ski
areas could care less if you ski up the hills - especially if you have
a pass and - this is important - do not pose a hazard. In other
words, understand that the purpose of alpine ski areas is for people to
have fun going downhill fast and they aren't necessarily expecting to
see some wierdo skiing uphill in their skiing zones. I always stick to
the very edges and avoid narrow spots. You might just try showing up,
buying a pass and skiing uphill. If they stop you, oh well, use the
lifts and enjoy a day of free-heeling!. Good luck

Thanks for the advice. I have heard it is better to ask forgiveness
than for permission.

Yea, especially if you're being fairly nice and considerate about it.
Good luck.
