Default Swix "Wet Snow" vs V60 Red-Silver

Quite a few skiing days were saved by my old tin of Swix Wet Snow grip wax.
It is a silver wax, similar to the VR75, but not as smooth; it has a
granular feel. For new snow, almost wet, with high air humidity and a temp
of +3C, it is the only wax I know of that does the job. Actually, it worked
so well last Saturday that almost everybody in the club used it, and my tin
is now history.

Going to my favorite shop this week, I was told that Swix stopped selling it
long time ago! The only similar product they have is the Swix V60 Red
Silver. Silver color with a hint of red, very similar texture, labeled for
+3C/0C fresh snow. Anybody knows if this is the same wax, sold under a
different name? I hope it is, I don't feel like searching ebay all winter
looking for old tins of Swix Wet Snow. ; )

I'm not certain, but I always had the feeling that Swix Special Red was
very close to the old Swix Wet. I too have had days when nothing
seemed to work except Swix Wet, and I too have depleted my supply. I
didn't try Special Red on those days because I had the Wet stuff
available.

This "new" wax from Swix called Red-Silver and is different from the
Regular, Special and Extra Reds. Yesterday, we had conditions close (new
snow, +3C, high humidity, however the snow wasn't looking wet) to the ones
where the Swix Wet Snow used to give good results. I used the Red-Silver,
others used VR75 and/or VR70. Most everybody had good grip. I am hoping that
we get those conditions again, with wet snow, that this Red-Silver performs
just as well as the Wet Snow did.

P.S. Yesterday was +3C. Woke up this morning at -27C. A 30 degrees drop in a
few hours... I am definitely not going to ski today.
