Default TV coverage

Looks like OLN is not covering FIS world cup any more this year. Anyone
know what network in the US is? Also does anyone know if OLN is planning
to cover FIS next year? If not I'm dumping them. Seems like they've
dumped nearly everything related to alpine skiing.

Unfortunately, nobody has any coverage post-Olympics, according to the
SR tv page (http://www.skiracing.com/tv_guide/).

Yeah, they had that "ten weeks to torino" thing, which I'll confess I
didn't watch. I can understand their giving 2006 a miss, possibly, if
there were contractual weirdnesses and so on (giving them the benefit of
the doubt here). If they don't pull their head out by next season,
though, I'll dump them. Right after the Tour de France, that is ;-)

I'd be tempted to do the same, but my fiancee is seriously into the
bull-riding. ( It actually IS pretty kewl....)

With LA retired now, OLN will drop all bicycle racing after the 06 TdF.
That's my predition anyway.

And then...they will Just Plain Suck!

My ideal sports station would show World Cup ski racing, Grand Slam
tennis, and the Tour de France. And World Cup soccer (hey, I wonder
who's gonna pick that up in the USA?). I'd also like Patriots and
Yankees games, but that's asking too much, I know.

I actually upgraded from basic cable to extended basic just to get OLN
(about 4 years ago). Time to go back to basic cable.

They already suck because they are not part of the basic package on Dish.
But other than that they rule. They picked up motocross racing which is a lot
more exciting to watch than skiing (and I like skiing...)

At least you are able to get OLN. We can only get it if we upgrade to
the digital cable package. Lots more expensive than "regular" cable. And
we don't have any premium channels, just expanded basic (or whatever
they call it). Our old cable company was pretty bad. The new one that
bought them out a while ago only adds new channels to the digital
package and not the "regular" cable"

Any chance he'll de-retire? Given what I've read about him, it sounds more
like an addiction than anything else. And didn't he and Sheryl just split?
Gotta read more celeb stuff...

I've got to think that it won't be long before Olympic events are on
in their entirety through some sort of subscription.

There is hardware called "Sling Box" that you attach to a tv in a
home that allows you to access that tv's signal on your computer over
the internet. Last I looked at Best Buy it was $250 and one for
Europe was supposed to be coming online 1Q 2006 (it should be out !).
If it is as advertised I'll be hooking one up in the UK or Ned. and
be getting their feeds for the next Olympics.

Maybe one of our Canadian friends could hook one up for his rsa
friends?

Thought you guys had some regional sports network in NE that covered NE
skiing along with Pats.
