We drove through Rjukan today before getting into the mountains and over to Rauland and our cabin. The skiing was quite nice actually, even though the new snow falling all afternoon reduced the glide a bit. they were about to set off on their hut trip with the purpose of writing this article. Nice article, I've visited most of the areas/huts she writes about. :-) I've also done some kite skiing on Hardangervidda, it is best location for it that I know about. I failed to ski across it last year when we had some faulty bindings crack on us, so we had two false starts before a quick loop through Skarvheimen to salvage the trip. We still had a nice time, and the Hardanger plans are still there for next time! One error I noted just now: "Mainland Norway stretches from about 50 to 73 degrees latitude, and" This should be 58 to 71, which is comparable to Alaska.
