Default How cold???

snow-forecast.com are forecasting -17 at the base station in Chamonix by
Friday, and -15 at the base in La Plagne!

With the snow fallen this week and the stuff predicted, what chance of a
good early season??

If we can avoid a warm November it's looking good!

regards,

Greg

Just heard the local forecast here, cold and snow down to 500m. Just hope it
dumps a meter in Zurich or better still Basel and leaves us sunshine in
Laax.

Locals are forecasting a mega-cold winter with loads of snow. And we all
know what snow brings don't we?

That glacier shot from Laax is looking alot healthier as well! If they get
early snow do they open up more runs?

Not yet. They'll probably open pistes off Crap Sogn Gion in mid November.

base station, where is that exactly? It will be around 10C in Chamonix
over the next few days according to the weather forecast with, maybe,
some snow at town level on Friday.

Locals now forecasting very cold with little snow due to the activity of the
moles. It's snowing here in Laax, got cold.

Just up the road, this morning it snowed down to 800m in Bourg St
Maurice, but it had all melted by mid pm. Looks pretty thin on the
ground right up to Arcs 1600 right now ...

In which case I think snowforecast has got its knickers in a twist again
- the base of skiing in Chamonix is Chamonix, which is around 1100
meters and I doubt even in the dead of night that it will be that cold.

Although it snowed near Lausanne at 550 meters so it is definitely colder.

If it dumps loads in November then actually manages to stay cold in
December rather than raining I will be impressed.
