i'm at the stage where i have just got the hang of carving. had a lesson on
it last year and learnt to do it with body aligned to board, as opposed to facing the front of the board. basically riding as described here : http://www.kommunity.com/advice/ in this article he mentions 'independent foot action' - a.. One of the best tips for learning to ride from the feet up is to feel for independent foot action. Basically, the front foot is the steering foot and guides the board around the turn onto the new edge. Once you feel the new edge with your front foot then the rear foot, (the edging foot) can follow and the turn is complete. could anyone expand on this? sounds like one of those subtle technique that could really improve your riding. for what its worth, i'm riding soft boot set up, on a ride timeless, with F15 R-3angles. cheers, C. |

Read this: http://www.bomberonline.com/VBulleti...&threadid=1078 It's a discussion about upper body alignment with regards to stance, and also touches on the issues of steering and riding "from the board up". It assumes hard boots and high stance angles, but as long as you keep this in mind you'll still find the discussion valuable. -- A: Top-posters. Q: What's the most annoying thing on usenet? |
