Neil: How right you are ! I live in No Nj but do not enjoy skiing at
Hunter, the old Vernon Valley, Elk Mtn for one reason.....no ice....just soft stuff and we like the challenges of hard ice. So......we drive to Maine or Canada for hard stuff in the 0=B0- 25=B0 range and it is glorious. Best way to learn......just do it with a board ! We started years ago at Stratton VT boarding down a hill onto a frozen pond and began to learn how to manuever board edges on a flat ice surface. Try it. The only time you have a little control is when the board is on an edge. Eventually you make it back to shore. Enjoyed reading your commentary. 2/16/05 |
