Default "'Useful" Chic-Choc info?

Anyone know where I can find any useful Chic-Choc info? I've cruised some
of the official Canadian sites but most seem oriented towards tourists
looking for the big-buck resort experience. I'm more interested in just
driving up, putting on my boards and heading into the outdoors. I checked
out the weather/avi site but it's in French only. Looked for guides/books
but found nothing related to bc skiing. Even sent away for a map but got no
response.

Come on dudes, it can't be this hard. Basic, useful information simply has
to be out there somewhere without having to strain a nut: sketch maps of
decent places to ski, camp, get grub, etc, etc.

All help appreciated,
Frank

Frank:

I feel your pain. Ran into the same problems 2 years ago. Here are
some phone numbers that are useful:

Parc de la Gaspesie (chic chocs): 866-727-2427; 888-270-4483 (gite
du mont albert); Pascal Henfield 800-665-6527 (Sepaq contact)

Destination Chic Choc (Pic du Lac hut / snowmobile
support)418-763-2630

Pascal Henfield was helpful in mailing maps and answering questions,
but beware that there seems to be poor communication all across the
board (e.g., Pascal said there was no rentals available in the park,
when it turned out that the Gite Du Mont Albert had full service
shop). The Gite is the sort of base camp of everything in the chic
chocs. They have camping and cabins, as well as nice hotel like
accomodations. And, amazing food.
