Hardwood Hills or Highlands Nordic conditions, anybody?

Hi everybody,

has anybody skied at either Hardwood Hills or Highlands Nordic lately?
I know they have got a good dump of snow in the past few days. If
anybody got a chance to ski there since last weekend, could you please
post what it looked like? I am thinking about opening the season this
Friday, but I am not sure it is worth the drive from Hamilton.

I was at Highlands Nordic on Sunday. They had about 5km groomed.
It was a really warm day (~+4C) so the base was soft. Near the
end of the day (3pm-ish) the temp was dropping and it was
firming up (and getting significantly faster). So it was good
early skiing.

Monday night they had about a foot more of snow. And they had
groomed it up to 7km. Right now they have a good blizzard dumping
a lot of snow there today.

So you should have good skiing this Friday.

Hardwood has some K's rolled, but not groomed or trackset as per their
website. I see their daypass is up to $20. That's kinda rich to ski
beside a landfill. take your nose plugs...yuck!
