Gatineau conditions for Keskinada
With the weather for the race looking similar to last year, I'm
curious about the snow conditions. Hearing about good conditions would improve my morale for another map black/balaclava/skin cream ordear.... JFT **************************** Remove "remove" to reply Visit http://www.jt10000.com **************************** |

Check www.xcottawa.ca for daily trail updates. We are getting some nice
snow right now, and possibly some ice pellets with rain tomorrow, followed by snow Wed and Friday. Trails are in excellent shape. It doesn't look like it will be nearly as cold as last year. |

It's now calling for a decent dump of snow Tuesday night and
Wednesday. Sunny and seasonal temperatures the rest of the week... high of -6C on Saturday and similar on Sunday. Couldn't ask for much better. |

Try the following link
http://weatheroffice.ec.gc.ca/city/p..._metric_e.html The Gats are usually two or three degrees colder than what this shows, but it'll give you a general idea of what's expected. Conditions have changed overnight. Yesterday the trails were still
abrasive and I think a base of blue klister would be needed to hold the grip wax. Glide would be dead easy. But overnight we had 5 cm of snow. It seems fairly dry... doesn't hold together. Humidity is around 70%. There should be enough coverage that we won't have to worry about the icy base in some places ripping off all your grip wax... but we won't know for sure until they groom the trails today. Check www.xcottawa.ca later today... they are revising their waxing recommendations because of the new snow. |
