Default check out interior BC super snow

Even though I'll be heading to Finland this weekend.....I did notice while
doing my research that the interior of B.C is having a sensational year for
snow. One of my old favorites 100 Mile House with 200k's of groomed track
has a 60cm base. Lovely rolling countryside. In the Vernon area both
Sovereign Lakes and Silver Star have lots of cold deep snow. Also Larch
Creek in Salmon Arm is reporting fantastic conditions. The next week or so
should be very cold with light snow falling on several days.

I don't think it is exceptional. Just normal late December conditions for
this part of the country. We are used to having good skiing from
mid-December through March at most areas and November through May at higher
elevations.

That's why I chose to live here.

Mark,

Have fun in Finland. While you've been busy researching where to go for
good nordic skiing, your backyard has been getting hammered with 5 feet
of new, cold snow.
Oh, the grass is always greener on the other side...

Yes.....can you believe it.....suddenly i have all these good options. Oh
well, I won't regret Finland, as the snow and trail systems are
excellent.......the cultural experience will be new, and maybe I can get to
kiss a reindeer. I know it is a long way to go.........but an added bonus
is a day and night in Helsinki (I understand that it is a very cool place).
Hopefully the Tahoe snows will still be there when I get
back.........probably not in the cold pristine condition they are in now
though.

Happy New Year
