Default roller ski poles

Have any of you tried to make a "take-down" set of ski poles? Perhaps
using a threaded joint at mid-pole? (Maybe like a jointed pool or
billiards cue?)
I've just changed vehicles and no longer have a roof rack, and want to
keep poles out of the passenger area. I have repaired broken ski
poles with 1/2" pvc but not so that one could separate the parts.
These poles would be primarily for training so that weight and ugly
don't matter. Thanks.

Komperdell makes some telescopic ski poles, like for ski
mountaineering, but they're kind of heavy, and may not be long enough
for you. Leki also made some nice adjustable carbon poles, but they
don't get real long, either. I think the Cross Country Ski Shop in
Grayling, Michigan carried them, or it may have been Eagle River
Nordic in Wisconsin. Good luck.
