Anyone know any good resorts in europe for sledding?
We are looking for a good resort in Europe, where the skiing is good
AND there are good sled / toboggan routes, as not everyone in our party skis. Does anyone know of any good resorts for this? |

I haven't been sledding, but when I was there, there was loads of people sledding - something that I haven't seen too much of at other resorts.. actually, where I saw a lot of sledding was under the gondola from mid station going back into Klosters.. |

Does anyone know of any good resorts for this? Probably a bit too ski-centric for the non-skiers but Val Thorens has an excellent toboggan run http://www.valthorens.com/hiver/uk/hiver.asp?link=luge -- Paul Schofield Time flies like an arrow Fruit flies like a banana |

Lech's toboggan run is fun - watch out for congestion though, one of our party cracked a shoulder blade in a corner pile up.... |

Jungfrau region. It has three long sled runs around the Scheidegg/ Mannlichen area, plus what claims to be the world's longest at First (but I think you have a long walk to the top of that one). Apart from the First run, all are well served by the Wengernalp Bahn, who do tickets specially for sledders. These runs are miles long. I tried one of them once and really enjoyed it. If I weren't so into skiing I could easily get into sledding there. Adrian -- Adrian Shaw ais@ Adran Cyfrifiadureg, Prifysgol Cymru, aber. It is really good for sledging, there is also a run down from the Schatztalp and a very good run from the Rinerhorn. Most resorts hate sledgers coz they get in the way of skiing but the Rinerhorn descends the whole vertical of the resort on a good technical run. |

The better runs will be quite a few km long and have restaurants and drink stops. Some hills are dedicated to sledding and the railway will sell combined tickets from places like Bern to a sledging location with sled hire thrown in. A common combination for people is sledging and spas. |
