We are thinking of taking a family ski trip to Breckenridge during the
second week of April (Spring Break for our schools). I'm eager to
hear of any posters' experiences with lodging (likely a condo since we
have 5 people), ski school, and snow conditions at that time of year.
We are leaning toward Breckenridge vs. Snowmass or Steamboat because
of proximity to Denver, which has MUCH cheaper airfares.

I live in Colorado about an hour from Breckenridge. I can ski there
as part of my season pass with Vail Resorts (eat your heart out) but I
can't comment on the lodging other than to say that it is probably
fine as long as you don't mind the expense. We just go out for the
day, ski, and go home. Snow conditions should be fine. This December
was the 4th snowiest in Colorado history and the resorts are going
full speed. Last year, the season started about the second week of
October and went into the first week of June. February and March are
usually the snowiest months and Keystone, where I ski, already has a
3+ foot base, so unless there is some weird major warming coming, it
will be great. Besides, there are several major resorts near there,
so you can choose what you like.
