Default MT Snow

Any one from this group going to be at Mt Snow over the next 7 days?
Is there any snow condition reports or comments?

michael

I am leaving tonight for Vt and will not have newsgroup access but you
can reach me by e-mail by removing under score and pushing the words
togethers

I skiied it Monday. It was pretty good in the places where it was
skiable at all. But there were a lot of trail closures, including most
of the Sundance/"Thanks Walt" area, and that really cool run under the
summit quad. It was clear that it had been rained on recently. The
North Face area had a good amount of snow.

My turn, I guess.
I'm not a MtSnow skier, my home mountain is Killington.

Mt Snow has had more natural snow than Killington but it
has less snowmaking capability than Killington so my
guess would be that conditions are the same.

Black are generally scraped by the end of the day. If
grooming hits these trails, they will be OK next AM.

Blues hold pretty well, If groomed, then real cruisers
as the snow will be firm. If not groomed, then they
will have bumps 101, pretty nice but not great.

Greens will be good. Some areas of green trails get
bumped and scraped and may be a little scary for novice
skiers late in the day.

All conditions will be hard and fast. There was a thaw/
freeze event last week and it's been very cold since.

If the mountain got the ice flows covered up, don't
worry. But be aware there may be areas of REAL ice.

I was there yesterday. Snow was decent, considering what we've been
dealt -- little bit o' fresh stuff, good man-made coverage. Word is we
may get more over the weekend, but unfortunately it's looking like it'll
probably be more of a coastal storm. The Jeep King of the Mountain is
happening at Mount Snow this weekend, so there are trail closures over
at Sundance.

Some days you're the windshield, other days you're the bug.
