As a kid I once saw a Punch'n'Judy show with 3 puppets [1] and often
wondered how the puppeteer managed that.
When I asked he just hit me with a plank [2] and squawked "That's the
way to do it".

[1] None of them were (ob)skiers.
[2] No a real one, not a (ob)ski

Plank? That's british slang for?

A piece of wood, typically an inch thick, several inches wide and
several feet long. Not slang, general usage.

Right. No worries. wink wink and all that.

Did I just whoossshhhhh ?

I doubt it. We both know what we're talking about, nudge nudge. To
each his own and all. You go your way and i'll go mine. Don't ask,
don't tell.
Look, you want to call it a 'plank' that's fine with me, no problems.

No, no. THAT's a club (that has rather exclusive membership).

I'm begining to understand - message headers and message bodies in this
ngroup are messed up. It means that administrators of this group are not up
the job.

Administrators ? We got administrators ? I want my money back.

Just a quick question, Andres. Say you were unfairly accused of
molesting a puppet. How would the administrators on your estonian
usenet planet deal with that?

Quick answer - I don't expect them to deal with it.

Strange poster you are.
Talk like that Star Wars Character you do.

Walt, has it ever crossed your mind that every poster is not necessarily
native english speaker? I wonder how would you manage in estonian, finnish
or russian? ... Perhaps some swedish or german then?

I leave important part of your post below in case James's newsreader does
not show it. Mine didn't! But I accidentally noticed it under Google (with
some others).

89-64-80 is not very much sidecut by todays standards. A 64mm waist is
fairly typical for an on-piste carver, but the skis they're making today
are much wider in the tip and tail - 100 to 110mm at the tip, slightly
less in the tail.

Here's a site that gives the measurements of last year's Fischer's -
http://www.onthesnow.com/news/equipm...d/fischer.html

My guess is that your skis are from the early stages of the shaped-ski
evolution. They'll probably work fine, although technology has
advanced, and there's better stuff available now. Still, it's about the
skier, not the ski (I say after spending the Saturday being smoked by a
guy on 207cm Pre SP1600 skis from the 70's)

My advice: get out and ski on them. Be sure to get your bindings
checked first.

Right. Why worry - what's written on them? What matters is how you feel on
them.

Administrators?

We have a critic (oh, do we have a critic), but no administrator.

I know a little Lithuanian, and her sucking makes up for the bad
skiing.
