Of course, things could change, and it would be easy to pull them out
again, but there hasn't been anything to ski on for weeks, and the
fruit trees are beginning to bloom, daffodils are out, etc. Last
weekend I helped out at a 'winter' adventure race that was expected to
be mostly skiable, but instead they had to ban skis just so folks
wouldn't ruin their gear, and it became a running race.

I skied on rock skis 5 times, i think. One day on good classics. Never
found skatable conditions for nice skis. What a year. Thank goodness
for road biking, which has been just fine.

Normal winter in Seattle area has 8 feet on the ground now, in the
mountains, and backcountry stuff still decent in May, maybe June. This
year, the high trails should be in fine shape by April, instead of the
normal June.

Damn these weather trends. I'll just play the positives, but I missed
Winter!

No snow? First, get one of these:

Next, arrange with all the neighbours on your street to be ready for the
right conditions and then, turn on all the taps at once! In a few hours, you
should have enough snow cover to ski back and forth the lenght of your block
; )
