I worked for RK back in the day. Roger Madsen, the founder, died last year
and the company was sold by his wife jenny to the highest bidder (7m or so).
it's still a daily heli operation catering to first timers but i think
they've just got a license from land/water bc to build a backcountry chalet
for multi-day trips.
if you're a first timer and you're looking for a relatively easy time of it,
rk is the way to go. if you're an experienced powder skier looking for the
goods, don't bother, too many tourist gapers from banff sure to be draggin
their fat asses down the glaciers.

What could one expect for powder?I know it depends
on the weather, but would it be typically knee high or waist high or
somewhere in between? I was also considering
Purcell Helicopter Skiing out of Golden,B.C.-they appear
to be comparable. Thanks for your comments.

it's impossible to predict snow conditions on any given day. where you ski
will depend both on the weather and the group you are skiing with. snow
conditions can vary between bullet-proof windcrust to nose-deep champagne
powder. be prepared for anything that way you wont be disappointed.
typically the deepest, fluffiest snow is in the trees which is where you'll
ski if the weather is bad. if it's a bluebird day you'll be up on the
glaciers. either way it's a smile a minute.
i've heard good things about purcell but i've never skied with them so i
can't help you there.

good luck and have a great time.. you'll be hard pressed not to .
