Default Livigno for experienced skiiers

Hi. I've been planning to go to Livigno this season. I've then read
that the area is not suited for experienced skiiers (I prefer a good,
steep, fast and wide red slope). Other places I've read that there is
indeed challenges for experienced skiiers. Can any of you help clarify?
Alternatively I'll to go Arabba.

Br,

Morten

Arabba would be my choice of the two, Livigno will not give you the
experience you are looking for and it is a disjointed ski area located on
two sides of the valley with no lift connection.

Arabba is in the heart of the Sella Ronda, which does not offer much in the
way of challenging skiing - Arabba itself does have the steeps you require
( they are marked black but are really reds ). However the scenery is just
fantastic and Arabba is very Italian, not expensive and very friendly.

If you base yourself in Arabba it is quiet, you go to ski not to p1ss it up
unlike Livigno, and you do have a couple of off piste/tour routes being the
'hidden valley' at Falzerego ( spelling is probably naff but you get the
drift ) and the Val Mezdi ( for which you need a guide ).

Arabba is the choice IMHO

Clive.

PS. if you do a search in this google newsgroup using my name you will find
more postings I have made on Arabba over the years.
