Default Colly Epic Chapter 3.9

The Basin was a blast today. Not a lot of new snow over night but what
we got yesterday was far from skied out. Plus the wind moved it around
quite a bit so many of the bump runs were filled in nicely. I think I
was the last one down Exhibition yesterday and I know I was the first
one down today. Brilliant. I also got first tracks on Standard and
soft turns everywhere else.

I skied first chair to nearly 2pm and my legs are noodles now.... but
of course I'll be back tomorrow.

I met my friend Steve and he agreed to spend about half the day video
taping me. I did some really nice runs down Thirteen Cornices,
Standard and Second Alley, so I was very excited to see how the footage
turned out. Well, it had been quite a while since I had used the vid
cam and it turns out than when I gave him instructions I told him to
push the still photo button instead of the video button. Doh! It's
pretty funny because the camera puts a still image on the tape for
about four or five seconds, but it records the sound live. So I've
ended up with a dozen or so still images with Steve in the background
shouting, "Go! Yeah! Woohoooo!"

I prefer being a smart ass but on hopefully rare occasions, I can't
deny being a dumb ass.

Tomorrow I check out of this lovely abode, hit the Basin in the morning
then head home to Winter Park to start chapter four. If it looks nice
I might do a few runs there before checking in to the next mystery
lodge.

Later,
Chris
